Comparing photos.

I know that there aren't a lot of different camera angles in my post this week but I decided to put these up because I think there is a lot I can learn from them. The first thing I want to point out is the sky in all of the photos. I wish I had changed the ISO to a lower format so that my camera wouldn't have taken in so much light. That is about the only thing that I can say I was not happy with in these picture.

Because of this I decided to compare two of the picture that really focused on the rust like color of the granite. I would like the top one more if the clouds did not look so messed up. I like the top picture because you get that great rustic color and you can really grasp the terrain that I was on when I took the picture.

The second picture I think is stronger because the sky is not as blurry and the granite really pops. The crane in the background is crisp and really stands out. When you compare both pictures I think the first one has the opportunity to be stronger but the sky really holds it back.

  1. Hi Cody
I like the top choice the best because there are many elements in the photograph to look at . I like the texture of the clouds, and they way they contrasts with the blue sky. For the quarry I really like that you are able to see the many diverse levels and nooks and crannies. Overall your top choice would be mine as well. I like the background and how I am able to see beyond the rocks to the mountains. Cool spot ! Maria

  2. You are correct, in pointing out that there are not a lot of different angles to view here. That was supposed to be the point of this assignment. It was for you to see how angles and distances can change the perception of a subject.

  3. This looks like it was challenging! I love the contrast between the rust tans and browns and then blue ski. Also the opposing angles. Very cleaver ::)
